For those of you not painfully aware by this point, I am a geek...perhaps even a professional geek. While I am 34 years old, I still play games and enjoy playing sports video games to a fault.
At this point the only thing that might make me seem a little less pathetic is the fact that I can find other opponents (or big boys) my age. My tool of choice is the X-Box and I prefer on-line gaming to face to face in case any nastiness breaks out. In my experience heated video games can lead to very real violence. A tiny chip in my old 27 inch television can attest to this after a good old fashion ass whooping of a friend with accompanying verbal smack.
The game of choice recently has been sega college 2k4 basketball for the Xbox and my worthy opponent has been another member of Blog Club. After a solid month of victories, I was startled to see my colleague begin to beat me, and then kick my ass. After the horror had subsided we determined to institute the lunch of shame rule. The rule is simple, if any player loses a game by more then twenty points they must be the winner lunch at an establishment of their choice.
While I dont' want to be a braggart, let me just say I am the first to win a lunch of shame.
